The First Day Fund is completely dependent on community involvement to attain its goals. All funds and products received are utilized for the sole purpose of providing school supplies to under privileged students in District #186. The number of applications honored is dependent upon community support.
Each year the greater Springfield area has donated sufficient supplies so that every application has received something. In our 15 years, The First day Fund has distributed kits to a total of 21,000 children. With an estimated store cost of $20.00 per kits, that is a total of more than $400,000 given by caring citizens.
